Crushing and Grinding Stages of a Large-Scale Copper Ore Concentrator
Crushing: A “three-stage, one closed-circuit” process (coarse, medium, screening, and fine crushing) is employed. The core of the process is a closed-circuit cone crusher and vibrating screen, strictly controlling the final product particle size to less than 15mm, providing ideal feed for grinding.
Grinding: A “two-stage closed-circuit grinding” process is employed. A first-stage ball mill and spiral classifier work together for coarse grinding; a second-stage ball mill and hydrocyclone form a closed-circuit system for fine grinding and precision classification, ensuring the final grinding fineness meets the required standards.

More Crushing, Less Grinding: The crushing stage minimizes particle size, significantly reducing the load on the more energy-intensive grinding stage.
Closed-Circuit Efficiency: Both crushing and grinding utilize a closed-circuit design, enabling efficient classification and ensuring a stable product particle size, improving overall efficiency.
Effect: This system provides a slurry of acceptable particle size and sufficient disintegration for flotation operations, ensuring efficient and low-energy operation of the entire plant.
