A large-scale aggregate production line supporting infrastructure development in Ethiopia has successfully completed load testing and officially commenced operations. Utilizing local basalt as the primary feedstock, the line boasts a designed capacity of 900 tons per hour and produces three grades of high-quality aggregate (0–5 mm, 5–10 mm, and 10–25 mm), fully meeting the strict gradation requirements for applications such as concrete mixing, highway base courses, and airport runway paving.
To address the challenges posed by the highly abrasive and difficult-to-crush hard rock found on the East African plateau, the line employs a three-stage crushing process—combining a jaw crusher, a multi-cylinder cone crusher, and a sand-making machine—along with a high-efficiency vibrating screening system. This configuration ensures excellent particle shape and a low content of elongated or flaky particles in the finished product. The entire line is equipped with an intelligent automation control system that monitors equipment status in real-time and automatically adjusts discharge settings and feed rates, guaranteeing continuous and stable output. Key components utilize highly wear-resistant materials, effectively extending maintenance intervals and reducing downtime.
The commissioning of this project will significantly alleviate the local shortage of high-quality sand and aggregate, providing a stable and reliable supply of construction materials for Ethiopia’s new wave of infrastructure development.
