With the growing demand for high‑purity magnesium in aerospace, refractories, and new energy sectors, the control of purity and particle size during ore processing has become a critical factor. A major mining group, leveraging its high‑quality magnesite reserves, planned and constructed an intelligent crushing and processing base with 300 tons per hour. The goal was to embed purification principles from the primary crushing stage, ensuring a consistently stable feed for subsequent beneficiation, flotation, and calcination processes, thereby supporting the company’s strategic shift towards high‑value‑added magnesium products.
The project is fully equipped with our crushing and screening machinery, including the F5X vibrating feeder, the PEW european style jaw crusher, the HST single‑cylinder hydraulic cone crusher and the S5X vibrating screen. These units work together in a closed‑loop system that covers primary crushing, secondary/tertiary crushing, and recirculating screening. The processing flow begins with the F5X feeder uniformly delivering run‑of‑mine ore into the PEW jaw crusher for primary reduction. The crushed material is then conveyed to the HST cone crusher for intermediate and fine crushing. The product from the cone crusher is fed to the S5X vibrating screen for size classification. Material meeting the target size (‑12 mm) is sent directly to the beneficiation stage, while oversize particles are returned to the cone crusher for re‑crushing, forming a closed circuit. Throughout the operation, the PLC system continuously monitors screening data and automatically adjusts the cone crusher’s discharge setting, maintaining the target fraction above 90% and keeping over‑crushing below 5%.
The client commented: “This crushing solution is no longer just about high‑capacity size reduction; it creates precise particle conditions for the beneficiation process from the very start. It truly helps us maximise resource value and provides a reliable foundation for our premium product lines.”
